At 18 I left Colchester for the remote Hebridean island of Coll, where I spent seven years immersed in island life — nature, community and a wildness that shaped me deeply. I studied Geography at the University of Glasgow, focusing on culture and development — alongside the physical geography that would take me to the Icelandic tundra beside Vatnajökull, Europe's largest icecap, and to high Arctic Spitsbergen, where I led a month-long wilderness expedition, camping in polar bear territory among calving glaciers.
After graduating I worked for Project Trust — one of the original gap year organisations, built on the principle of deep cultural immersion — which took me through Asia and Africa and ignited a lasting love for India, whose energy and spirit continue to shape both my life and work. My path has also included conservation work and the grounding, transformative experience of raising my two daughters. Looking back, I see the thread running through all of it: a love of people, community and nature, and a warmth, empathy and capacity for genuine connection.
My work spans portraiture, editorial storytelling, photography for founders, events and spaces — creating imagery rooted in emotional honesty, atmosphere and depth. I'm drawn to work that feels authentic, human and culturally connected; imagery that reveals something genuine beneath the surface.
Alongside commissioned work, my long-term focus is documentary and editorial storytelling connected to women's empowerment, sustainability and grassroots initiatives across India and Asia. I'm particularly drawn to stories that explore culture, identity, resilience and the preservation of traditional ways of life and ancient wisdom in the face of social and environmental change. At the heart of my work is a reverence for humanity, spirit and connection — for the rituals, ceremonies and practices that recognise our interconnectedness with each other and the natural world, and that are quietly disappearing in a rapidly homogenising world.
